Oh boy... great day. Bon jour!
We got up and enjoyed a fine breakfast at the Manoir des Sables...
Dad loved it because being immersed in French culture meant foie gras for breakfast. Whatever...
We got our checkout time from Jean Taylor...
...and took off for thr first segment with Dad at the wheel. The first leg wound through southern Quebec towards the first checkpoint at the Musee Bombardier in Valcourt. "The world's largest private museum focused on snow transportation" (only in Canada!)
We drove through some awesome countryside...
We arrived at the museum with plenty of time to spare, and got to see something rather amusing...
Scott George is a *big* guy, well over six feet, and to see him fold himself into the '65 Mini Cooper S is funny enough, but at this checkpoint we noticed that rather than climbing in, he would just give the Cooper a shove and "walk it" like a dog, up the checkpoint queue. heh.
They would not let me take pictures inside the museum, so you can not be treated to the history of the snowmobile here...
I did take some more car pictures in the parking lot though!
I was able to take quite a few pictures at this checkpoint. Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you, we zeroed both this and the previous ones. We are still in first, now tied with 4 other cars.
the next leg was a transit to Quebec City, with dad at the wheel and me navigating. That means more pics!...
We were delayed as we entered the hotel parking, and all the cars started overheating... I thought I wouild be a witness to some road rage. Thankfully they allowed us in just before the cars and their owners boiled over.
Here is the view from our hotel window...
Some pictures from dinner...
Bon soir!
OK, take me to the next day!
